A quick update from South Carolina’s state.com of some southern players getting Big East interest on the recruiting trail…

According to the State.com’s Monday Recruiting Notebook, Wide receiver Torian Richardson (6-0, 180) of Byrnes (SC) says he will take official visits to Michigan State and Mississippi State. He is going to East Lansing for the Penn State game Nov. 21. He is also looking at South Carolina for a possible visit and will take one if the Gamecocks offer. He has offers from Michigan State, Mississippi State, Rutgers, Tulane, Louisville, Syracuse, Kansas State and East Carolina.

Here are some more Big East related notes from the previous week’s Notebook at the state.com:

South Carolina is recruiting athlete Todd Neal (6-2, 195) of Mobile, Ala., as a defensive back who could play safety or corner. Neal also plays receiver and said Florida State likes him for that spot. He has offers from USC, Florida State, Southern Miss and Troy. He said he’s also getting interest from Clemson, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisville.

Running back James White (5-10, 196) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has Clemson, Wisconsin and Iowa among his favorites. He said there’s a good chance he’ll take an official visit to Clemson.
